The public transportation system here is incredible - there are three train lines, the RER (travels to the outskirts of the city), le Metro (just main Paris), and the tram (certain parts of Paris and in the street, like a trolley). We have these Navigo passes that work for EVERYTHING and you fill it up monthly or weekly, and it's great, they are actually less than 1 month unlimited pass for the CTA. There are buses, too, but they are not as fat as the trains.
